Qutonomous TokenVault review
A TypeScript-based vaultless tokenization API for teams handling structured sensitive data.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Qutonomous TokenVault is an API for format-preserving tokenization of sensitive structured data. It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise teams in payment processing, healthcare analytics, insurance and benefits administration, and GDPR pseudonymization. Supported data types include PAN, SSN, EIN, PHI, IBAN and SWIFT data. The product supports cloud and self-hosted deployment, while the broader deployment specification also includes hybrid use.
Its central design is vaultless: tokens retain the source format without relying on a central lookup table. The product combines AES-FF3-1 with ML-KEM-wrapped key material described as post-quantum cryptography protected. Teams can choose reversible or irreversible tokenization, depending on whether detokenization is required. Tokenization and detokenization are exposed through a TypeScript SDK, making the product a fit for API-led services built around that language. Detokenization is restricted to authorized callers.
Pricing is handled through a contact-sales model rather than published plan tiers. The vendor states that TokenVault is PCI DSS P2PE compliant. Its focused feature set suits organizations that need format-preserving protection for regulated identifiers while keeping existing data shapes usable. Teams wanting a vaultless architecture, named data-type support and both reversible and irreversible modes should consider it. Organizations needing broad language-specific SDK coverage, detailed authorization controls or transparent self-service pricing may prefer an alternative with those capabilities explicitly defined.
