Qualys TotalCloud review
Broad workload, container, Kubernetes, and serverless coverage for multi-cloud security teams.

Qualys TotalCloud is a cloud-native application protection platform for security teams managing multi-cloud infrastructure, workloads, containers, Kubernetes, and applications. It brings together inventory across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with cloud security posture management, vulnerability assessment, threat detection and response, risk prioritization, and remediation guidance. Its hybrid deployment model supports agent-based, agentless, API-based, snapshot-based, and network-based assessment approaches, with web and API access.
Pricing is contact-sales, so buyers should plan for a quote-led evaluation rather than a published tier comparison. The product does offer a 30-day trial, but that is distinct from a perpetual free plan. TotalCloud’s breadth is reflected in its coverage: continuous vulnerability scanning, container image and runtime security, Kubernetes vulnerability and admission security, and detection and response for virtual machines and serverless functions. Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, and Jira ticket workflows help connect findings with operational response.
Its ecosystem reach is a practical strength for teams integrating security into development and service-management workflows. Integrations include GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, VS Code, Jira, and ServiceNow. The main trade-off is scope: organizations seeking a focused tool for one cloud, only container images, or only vulnerability scanning may find TotalCloud broader than necessary. Teams responsible for varied cloud workloads and needing inventory, posture, workload, Kubernetes, container, serverless, and response capabilities in one platform should consider it; smaller or narrowly scoped teams should compare more specialized options.
