QGIS Cloud is a hosted spatial data infrastructure for publishing QGIS Desktop projects as web maps and OGC services. It is aimed at teams and individuals that already create maps in QGIS and want to make them available through web or mobile clients. The workflow connects QGIS Desktop, the QGIS Cloud plugin, PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases, and QGIS Server, while supported platforms include web, Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Its strongest fit is the QGIS and OGC ecosystem. Users can upload and publish data through the QGIS Desktop plugin, work with PostgreSQL and PostGIS, and connect with tools such as pgAdmin, QGIS Browser, and QGIS Database Manager. Published services include WMS, WFS, WFS-T, WMTS, and WCS. The WebGIS client, Mobile GIS client, raster support, and map printing up to 1200 dpi extend delivery beyond a desktop project. This makes QGIS Cloud more suitable for map distribution and service publishing than for a broader, standalone GIS analysis workflow.

The free tier provides unlimited public maps, one PostGIS 3.1 database, 50 MB of total database storage, and 10 concurrent database connections, but it is restricted to non-commercial and non-government use. QGIS Cloud Pro adds restricted-access maps and WMS, SSL support, 10 PostGIS 3.1 databases, daily database backups, WebGIS editing, and viewer customization. Choose QGIS Cloud when QGIS publishing, hosted PostGIS, and standards-based web services are the priority. Consider another GIS platform if the main requirement is independent spatial analysis rather than online publication.
