Punch Ledger is a cloud-based contractor accounting and job-cost tracking platform for solo operators, small firms and growing multi-entity businesses. It connects expenses, labor hours, subcontractor costs, invoices and project budgets to provide project profit-and-loss views. The feature set also covers receipt and document scanning, crew scheduling, payroll tracking, bank reconciliation, vendor analytics, quote approval and project progress updates with photos. Access is provided through a web browser, with mobile web support.
The Free plan includes manual expense and invoice entry, basic project tracking and a work schedule. Starter costs $29 per month and adds receipt and document scanning, unlimited expenses and invoices, project P&L reports and vendor analytics. Pro is $79 per month, adding payroll management, bank reconciliation, MCP integrations, advanced P&L export and priority email support. Business costs $199 per month and adds AI project scheduling, Google Calendar sync, a client portal, material estimating and tracking, API access and a dedicated onboarding call. The published plans show monthly billing, and no trial card is required.
Punch Ledger connects with Gusto, ADP and Google Calendar, while cloud deployment keeps the system focused on browser access. Its job costing and project P&L are a strong fit for contractors who need financial visibility by project, especially when starting on the free plan. Paid tiers suit teams that need scanning, reconciliation, payroll management, analytics or client collaboration. Payroll tracking remains limited to tracking and summaries: Punch Ledger does not file payroll taxes or issue W-2s. Contractors requiring deeper WIP or retainage workflows, or a native mobile application, should consider another platform.
