ProxyKit is a local-first desktop proxy and API traffic workspace for developers, QA engineers, platform teams, and security engineers. It captures and decrypts HTTP(S) traffic for inspection, including mobile app traffic, then supports request editing, replay, response comparison, mocks, rewrites, and fault injection. Its standalone CLI adds headless capture and CI workflows, making it relevant to teams that need traffic debugging beyond an individual desktop session.

The plan structure separates individual use from collaboration. Starter is free forever and includes HTTPS capture with TLS interception, mobile capture, breakpoints, basic replay and API client, and a local mock server. Pro is listed at $20 one-time and adds unlimited traffic history and findings, advanced replay with diffs and overrides, HTTP/3 capture, unlimited mocks, rewrites, sessions, and scripts, plus Frida/mobile app capture. Team is $10 per seat per month, adding workspaces, cloud sync, hosted mock URLs, audit log, RBAC, and seat management. Enterprise includes SSO and SCIM, domain controls, enforced policies, self-hosted cloud deployment, extended audit retention, priority support, and an SLA.

The broadest fit is for teams that want detailed traffic control on macOS, Windows, or Linux and a path from local debugging to CI checks. Integrations span API tools and formats such as Postman, Insomnia, Bruno, OpenAPI, cURL, and HAR, along with developer tools including VS Code, Docker, Cursor, and several AI coding tools. ProxyKit can inspect traffic for secrets and PII and apply redaction rules. The trade-off is that richer history, replay, and team controls sit in paid tiers; solo users or teams seeking a cloud-only proxy may prefer a narrower or differently deployed tool. Choose it when mobile capture and programmable traffic workflows matter; consider alternatives if collaboration features or cloud operation are central from the outset.

ProxyKit pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Captures and decrypts HTTP(S), including iOS and Android traffic
    • Replays and edits requests, compares responses, and creates local mocks
    • CLI supports headless capture, replay, and CI gates
  • Where it doesn't
    • Advanced traffic history and replay require the paid Pro plan
    • Team features cost $10 per seat per month
    • Local-first desktop focus may not suit teams seeking a cloud-only workflow
