Pronto is a desktop search application for people who need to find files across selected folders by keyword or meaning. It supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, with Windows available to consumer and enterprise users and macOS and Linux offered for enterprise. Its focus is local file discovery rather than message search: indexing and search run locally, and supported content includes documents, code, images, PDFs, spreadsheets, archives, and email files.

Search reaches beyond filenames. Pronto indexes 59 file types, can search inside supported compressed archives, and uses OCR to make scanned PDFs and images searchable. Real-time folder watching tracks changes in selected folders, while filters for file type, date range, and size help narrow results; searches can also be exported to CSV. This makes it a fit for people with mixed file collections who want contextual retrieval as well as conventional keyword matching. It is less suited to buyers looking for message search or a broader collaboration suite.

Plans are annual: Personal costs $39 per year for all core features, 59 file types, unlimited files, one device, and email support. Professional costs $59 per year and adds priority support, advanced statistics, three devices, and early access features. Business costs $99 per year and adds unlimited devices, team management, dedicated support, and custom integrations. A 14-day trial is available. The tier choice mainly comes down to device coverage and support needs; solo users can start with Personal, while teams needing centralized management or unlimited devices should consider Business. Buyers wanting a free plan or consumer downloads for macOS and Linux should look elsewhere.
