Progress Kemp LoadMaster is an application delivery controller for distributing traffic across web and application servers. It supports Layer 4 TCP/UDP balancing, Layer 7 content switching, application-aware routing, health checks, traffic scheduling, SSL/TLS termination, high availability, caching, compression, authentication, and global server load balancing. It is suited to enterprise teams, organizations with distributed sites, managed service providers, and teams managing on-premises, hybrid-cloud, or public-cloud environments.
The published plans add capabilities by tier. Standard includes Layer 4/7 load balancing, advanced SSL capabilities, REST API and PowerShell automation, traffic rate limiting and QoS, plus 10x5 customer support. Enterprise adds authentication and SSO management, certificate monitoring, a Kubernetes Ingress Controller, and 24x7 support. Enterprise Plus adds Global Server Load Balancing, a Web Application Firewall and intrusion prevention, daily threat updates, and 24x7x365 premium support. A free option and a 30-day trial provide an entry point, while Free LoadMaster is capacity-limited and intended for low-volume, development, QA, and pre-production use. Paid pricing is quote-based.
Platform coverage is a strong fit for mixed infrastructure. LoadMaster is available through hardware, virtual appliances, or cloud instances, with web, Linux, Windows, API, and self-hosted support. Integrations include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, LDAP, SAML, Active Directory, RADIUS, REST API, and PowerShell. Its feature range suits teams that need traffic distribution alongside security, identity, and Kubernetes controls. Teams seeking a narrowly focused or transparently priced load-balancing service should compare alternatives; enterprise buyers needing layered routing and global traffic management should consider LoadMaster.
