Progress Kemp GEO directs DNS traffic among multiple data centers and cloud environments, making it a fit for organizations that need multi-site traffic distribution, resilience, or disaster recovery. Its approach is closely tied to LoadMaster: buyers can enable GEO on LoadMaster or deploy a dedicated virtual appliance. That makes it most relevant to teams already using LoadMaster or prepared to operate that appliance, rather than organizations seeking a standalone hosted DNS service.

Routing options cover geographic and proximity-based selection, client-subnet steering through EDNS Client Subnet, and round-robin, weighted round-robin, or fixed-weight scheduling. GEO can also select sites using LoadMaster health statistics, with ICMP, TCP, and HTTP/HTTPS health checks and automatic service failover for data-center outages. DNSSEC support and REST API and PowerShell automation add useful controls for teams managing DNS security or automating operations. The feature set is broad for multi-site balancing, but its health-based selection is specifically tied to LoadMaster health statistics.

There are two deployment paths in the published plans. VLM-GEO is a dedicated virtual appliance for GSLB, with a perpetual license option and support subscription options. GEO on LoadMaster is enabled with an Enterprise Plus support subscription. According to the vendor's pricing page, buyers need to request a quote; there is no free plan, though a 30-day free trial is offered. The product lists 24/7 support, community, and documentation channels. Choose GEO if LoadMaster alignment, varied routing, and automatic failover match your environment. If you want a standalone hosted DNS service or a published price, another option may suit you better.
