Our verdict on Prepear

For home cooks who want recipes, meal planning, and grocery lists in one place, Prepear brings those tasks together across web, iOS, and Android. Recipes can be saved from the web or added personally, then sorted into cookbooks and collections. Users can make customizable meal plans and generate shopping lists from recipes or meals. Collaborative collections also let people share recipes, making the app relevant for households or small groups that plan and cook together rather than for someone seeking only a standalone recipe archive.

Its workflow connects planning to cooking: Cook Mode displays ingredients and directions together and supports checking off steps. The free Prepear plan includes everyday recipe organization, planning, collections, and automatic grocery lists. Prepear Gold costs $119.99 per year, billed annually, and adds unlimited Cook Mode, ad-free recipe directions, and access to every meal plan and cookbook. A 14-day free trial is listed, and the published refund period is 30 days. Gold makes most sense for cooks who want those additional plan and cookbook resources or expect frequent Cook Mode use; the free plan covers the core organizing and planning flow.

Prepear is available on computers and phones, but the Walmart grocery-shopping connection is specifically through the mobile app, for pickup or delivery. That makes it a useful fit for shoppers who want to move from a meal plan or recipe list toward Walmart ordering on a phone. The product is less suited to cooks who need grocery ordering outside Walmart or expect that shopping connection on the web. Choose Prepear for collaborative recipe collections and an integrated planning-to-list routine; consider alternatives if Walmart is not a useful shopping destination or the annual Gold price does not fit your needs.
