The product is aimed at small to mid-sized rental portfolios rather than large property management companies. Its free Basic plan provides tenant management, rent and expense tracking, document and lease storage, and maintenance tracking, making it a suitable starting point for landlords who want centralised records without a subscription.
The feature set goes beyond basic bookkeeping. PrairieKey supports automatic rent reminders and overdue follow-ups, digital move-in, move-out, and general inspections, digital signatures, PDF inspection exports, urgent maintenance routing, lease sharing, and reports. Its tenant portal gives renters access to payment-proof submissions, maintenance requests, inspection workflows, and documents.
