Portnox NAC is a cloud-delivered network access control platform for organizations securing distributed, hybrid, and device-dense networks. It provides visibility across managed, unmanaged, BYOD, IoT, and OT devices, then applies identity-, role-, location-, and risk-based policies. Coverage includes wired, wireless, and VPN access, with cloud RADIUS, 802.1X authentication, dynamic VLAN and ACL assignment, MAC authentication bypass, and endpoint quarantine. It is aimed at teams that need NAC and continuous device risk assessment through web and API access.

The product is organized into four offerings. Network Authentication (RADIUS) provides Cloud RADIUS, 802.1X, RadSec support, and RADIUS forwarding rules. Network Access Control adds continuous risk assessment and remediation, passwordless authentication, certificate services, agent and agentless posture assessment, and IoT trust and spoof protection. ZTNA covers secure access to SaaS and private applications, agentless access, continuous posture assessment, and least-privilege policies. Universal Zero Trust combines RADIUS, NAC, ZTNA, and TACACS+ under centralized policy control, with certificate-based authentication and an extensible API. The published plans also show integrations with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Active Directory, Okta, Microsoft Intune, and Google Workspace.

Pricing is based on contact with sales, and there is no free plan. A 30-day free capability period is available. The platform’s cloud model suits organizations that want centralized policy control across distributed networks, while its certificate authority and SCEP support add depth for passwordless and device-authentication workflows. Portnox NAC is a strong fit for enterprises that need access control tied to endpoint posture, identity, compliance enforcement, and automated remediation. Teams seeking a free product or an on-premises-only deployment should consider a different direction.
