Our verdict on Playbook
Playbook is a digital asset management platform for freelancers, creative agencies, brands, media teams, and enterprise organizations. It stores, previews, organizes, searches, reviews, versions, and shares images, videos, audio, documents, and 3D media. Creative teams can manage metadata, custom fields, tagging, approval comments, public share links, publish pages, and asset history across web, iOS, Android, and API access.
Its freemium pricing gives smaller teams a clear starting point. The Free plan includes 100GB of storage or up to 300 assets, 3 members, 3 guests, public share links, and 1,000 API calls per month. Pro costs $10 per user per month with annual billing and adds 2TB of storage, unlimited assets, unlimited guests, and 20,000 API calls per month. Team costs $20 per user per month with annual billing and includes 3TB of storage, 2TB per additional member, Playbook Intelligence, AI tagging for images and videos, and 200,000 API calls per month. Enterprise includes 15TB of storage, unlimited members, SAML SSO, white-glove migration and setup, and custom storage and workflows.
Playbook fits teams that need more than a file repository. Visual and conversational search, AI editing and media mini-apps, side-by-side version comparison, review reactions, desktop and mobile synchronization, and REST API and SDK access cover both creative review and programmatic asset management. Integrations with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Figma, Slack, Discord, Zapier, Midjourney, and Adobe support a broad creative workflow. Teams needing a simple, tightly limited storage tool may not need this feature range, while larger organizations can consider Enterprise for SAML SSO, migration support, and custom workflows.
