Phase is an open-source secrets management platform for developers and engineering teams. It stores, organizes, encrypts, and deploys application secrets and environment variables across development, CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud services, and production environments. Teams can use its web console, CLI, REST API, SDKs, and integrations, with deployment available through managed cloud software or self-hosting. Its feature set also covers AI agents, making it relevant for engineering groups managing secrets across varied workloads.

Pricing is structured around a useful free entry point. The Free plan costs $0 and includes core platform features, up to 5 users or service accounts, up to 3 apps, 3 environments, and Google, GitHub, and GitLab OAuth SSO. Pro costs $10 per user per month or $120 per user per year, adding unlimited users and service accounts, unlimited apps, 10 custom environments, teams and custom roles, automated secret rotation, and 90-day audit logs. Enterprise costs $25 per user per month or $300 per user per year and adds unlimited custom environments, OIDC SSO, SCIM provisioning, dynamic secrets, audit log forwarding, and SIEM integration. A 14-day free trial is available.

Phase fits teams that need more than encrypted storage, particularly those managing rotation, short-lived credentials, runtime injection, Kubernetes synchronization, or CI/CD workflows. Integrations include Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS IAM, Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform, Vercel, Railway, OpenAI, and LiteLLM. Secret versioning, recovery, point-in-time restoration, network access policies, and external audit forwarding extend its operational coverage. Smaller teams may find the Free limits restrictive as they grow, while organizations needing a narrowly focused vault may not need its broader platform. The terms state that Phase does not provide cash refunds.
