pdir Website Check review
A useful free website scan, but not a substitute for deep accessibility testing.

pdir Website Check is a free, web-based analysis service for website owners and web professionals. It scans submitted websites and web servers across accessibility, security, performance, SEO, usability, mobile presentation, cookies and selected legal or GDPR-related issues. Its accessibility checks reference WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1, making it suited to small sites that need a broad first review without a software cost.
The Free plan costs nothing and includes automated website checks, accessibility checks, security and performance checks, SEO and usability checks, and improvement tips. Its scope extends beyond accessibility: the service reviews SSL, server configuration and CMS settings; page speed; titles, descriptions, sitemaps and HTML; cookies; and CMS-specific settings for Contao, WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. After testing, it can evaluate PDFs and presents recommended measures to guide follow-up work.
Its breadth is the main reason to consider it, especially when one scan needs to cover accessibility alongside technical website concerns. Mobile presentation checks and automated WCAG-related analysis add useful coverage for general website reviews. The trade-off is limited accessibility depth: manual testing is not documented as part of Website Check, and the product has limited integrations and CI/CD support. The free version also does not retain report history, which reduces its fit for ongoing audit tracking. Choose it for an accessible starting point and broad website analysis; choose a more specialized accessibility platform when deeper testing, workflow integration or manual review is central.
