A free, mobile-first payroll option for Australian solo operators, with paid web access and Xero integration.

For Australian employers, Payroller combines payroll processing with Single Touch Payroll reporting to the ATO. Its free Lite plan is aimed at one-person payroll and is mobile-only, making it a fit for solo operators who need basic payroll from iOS or Android. Employees can view payslips and earnings and request leave in the app, while payroll supports weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly pay periods. The product also calculates tax and superannuation, generates payslips and supports leave management.
The published plans distinguish mobile payroll in Lite from web and mobile access in Standard. Standard also lists superannuation and Xero integration alongside the employee app and leave management. According to the vendor's pricing notes, Standard costs AUD $3.99 per employee/month billed yearly, with a $15.96 monthly minimum, or $5.50 per employee/month billed monthly, with a $22 monthly minimum. Timesheets & Rosters is a separate plan listing timesheet management, rosters, leave management and a kiosk app. A free trial lasts 7 days; the trial does not require a card. These options make the fit depend on whether mobile-only payroll is enough or web access and additional tools matter.
Beyond payroll and employee self-service, Payroller offers Xero and Beam integrations and downloadable ABA files for bank payment processing. Email, chat, community and documentation are listed as support channels, and compliance features include GDPR and two-factor authentication. Choose Payroller if Australian payroll workflows, ATO STP reporting and a free one-person mobile plan are central needs. It is less suited to buyers who need web access within the free plan, or who want timesheets and rostering as part of basic payroll; those features are separated into plan offerings.
