Payroll Connected brings employee scheduling and payroll calculations together for Canadian businesses. It creates payroll from employee schedules and wage or salary information, supporting hourly, salaried and averaging agreements. It calculates regular pay, overtime, vacation pay, statutory holiday pay and payroll deductions including EI, CPP and income tax. Businesses can also produce pay slips, time sheets and employee schedules to print or email. This makes it a fit for small businesses that want schedules and payroll in one web-based workflow, rather than a tool focused only on payroll processing.

The plans all include 25 employees, with reports and support distinguishing the tiers. Basic includes essential reports; Light includes some reports and priority support; Pro includes all reports and priority support. Pro also provides electronic T4 and ROE files, direct-deposit files, and payment of payroll deductions to government on the business’s behalf. Pricing is stated in CAD, with a $15 starting fee for 25 employees and a 30-day free trial. The paid plans offer a clear progression for businesses that need more reporting or payroll filing support.

Payroll Connected supports direct-deposit files for use with payment processors or banks, including Bambora, Telpay and RBC. It can also support cheque or cash payments. This file-based approach may suit businesses that already handle payment through a bank or processor, but those seeking payroll that makes direct deposits without a separate provider may prefer another option. Choose Payroll Connected if Canadian pay calculations, schedules and payroll records are central needs; look elsewhere if employee self-service is a requirement.
