PayPal Payouts is a batch payment service for businesses paying vendors, contractors, employees, customers, and other recipients. It supports payments through the Payouts Web interface, the Payouts REST API, file upload, and SFTP processing. Recipients can be identified by email address, mobile number, PayPal ID, or Venmo handle, with funds delivered through PayPal or Venmo wallets. It is best suited to organizations already operating within the PayPal ecosystem and needing repeatable mass payouts.
Pricing is split between two plans. Payouts Web costs 2 percent of the transaction amount per transaction and includes web-based payouts and file upload. Payouts API costs $0.25 per transaction and includes API integration and batch payout processing. Both plans support the core payout workflow, while the choice mainly depends on whether payments are initiated through a web interface and files or through an API integration.
