Pawnit Systems is a cloud platform for pawnbrokers and second-hand dealers that need one system for loans, purchases, sales, payments, customer records and inventory. Pawnit POS handles transaction and stock operations, Pawnit Manager adds staff, shop and financial reporting, and Pawnit Mobile supports stock inquiries, transfers and stocktaking on iOS and Android. Its multi-location design suits small, mid-market and enterprise operators managing several shops.

The published plans separate second-hand retail from traditional pawnbroking. Buy & Sell costs 59.95 per location per month, ex GST, and includes second-hand dealing with buys and police reporting, retail sales, laybys, refunds, new stock purchases, stock pricing and labels, transfers, stocktakes, users, cash tills, balancing and integrated SMS. Pawn, Buy & Sell costs 149.95 per location per month, ex GST, adding pawnbroking loans, payments and redemptions, re-pledging, storage bays or locations, automated reminders and an online payments portal. Shops comparing tiers should note that core pawn workflows begin only in the higher plan.

Pawnit’s ecosystem covers accounting, payments, ecommerce and device-level checks through Xero, MYOB, WooCommerce, Fiserv, Windcave and AMTA IMEI validation. Automated police reporting is available for supported Australian states, while mypawn enables online customer payments. Web, iOS and Android access supports teams working between locations, and reporting spans staff, shops and finances. The platform fits operators that want pawn and retail processes together with mobile stock work; a business needing only basic second-hand sales may not need the higher tier, while shops outside supported police-reporting regions should verify workflow fit before choosing it.

Pawnit Systems pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Combines pawn loans, collateral records, retail sales and stock control
    • Mobile apps support stock inquiries, transfers and stocktaking
    • Integrates with Xero, MYOB, WooCommerce and payment services
  • Where it doesn't
    • Pawn functionality starts at the 149.95 tier, not the entry plan
    • Automated police reporting applies only in selected Australian states
    • Per-location pricing can increase as a shop network expands
