PatchMon is an open-source patch management and infrastructure monitoring platform for sysadmins and IT teams managing Linux, FreeBSD, and Windows hosts. It centralizes package inventory, pending-update detection, patch policies, approval workflows, audit trails, compliance scans, Docker monitoring, alerts, remote access, and role-based access control. Hosts connect through outbound-only agents, and the product is available as a self-hosted AGPLv3 Community Edition or PatchMon Cloud.

The published plans show a low-cost progression. Starter costs $1 per endpoint per month and includes patch monitoring for Linux, FreeBSD, and Windows, host groups, dashboards, global search, scheduled reports, notification destinations, OIDC/SSO, 2FA, a REST API, and auto-enrollment tokens. Plus costs $2 per endpoint per month and adds manual patch runs, patch scheduling, approval workflows, Docker container monitoring, advanced alert rules, and custom RBAC roles. Max costs $3 per endpoint per month and adds browser SSH, browser RDP via Guacamole, a BYO-AI terminal assistant, OpenSCAP, CIS, and Docker Bench compliance scanning, plus phone support. A free plan and a 14-day free trial are also available.

PatchMon fits teams that want patch compliance, remediation automation, reporting, and policy controls without a high per-endpoint price. Its ecosystem includes Proxmox LXC, Ansible, Docker, OpenSCAP, Slack, Discord, SMTP, webhooks, ntfy, REST API, Claude, OpenAI, and Windows RDP. The product supports hybrid deployment across web, API, and self-hosted environments. Linux and FreeBSD patch deployment are documented capabilities, while Windows patch monitoring is supported and Windows patch deployment is on the roadmap. Choose PatchMon for budget-conscious mixed server fleets centered on patching and compliance; teams seeking broad configuration management or Windows patch deployment should look elsewhere.
