Our verdict on Pasiv

Pasiv is free-to-install desktop mining software for solo miners who want to put idle computer hardware to work. It supports CPU mining for Monero, Verus, Zephyr and Salvium, and NVIDIA GPU mining for Pearl, Ravencoin and Ergo. Miners can choose a coin or enable automatic selection of the most profitable supported CPU coin, then connect to a pool that sends payouts directly to their payout address. Pasiv checks address format before mining starts and displays live hashrate and mining estimates.

Its fee structure is narrow rather than subscription-based: according to the vendor, Pasiv charges a 4% fee on active Monero mining and no Pasiv fee for other supported coins. The product is free to install, and no subscription pricing is published. That can suit miners focused on supported non-Monero coins, while Monero miners should weigh the stated fee against their expected mining returns. Hardware coverage is mixed, with GPU mining described for supported NVIDIA cards.

The platform mix is useful for miners managing desktop rigs across Windows, macOS and Linux, with companion apps on iOS and Android for remote monitoring and control. Diagnostics cover hardware and pools, giving solo users checks alongside payout validation. Pasiv lists MetaMask, Phantom and WalletConnect integrations, as well as pool connections. It is open source and offers email support. Choose it if its supported coins, hardware and mobile rig controls fit your setup; look elsewhere if you need GPU mining beyond supported NVIDIA cards or want mobile devices to do the mining itself.
