Paperspace Gradient review
A cost-conscious MLOps platform combining GPU notebooks, workflows, model management, and serving.

Paperspace Gradient is a cloud-based machine-learning platform for teams developing, training, and deploying models. Its core workspace is built around web-based Jupyter Notebooks with CPU and GPU machines, while Workflows support repeatable machine-learning pipelines. A model repository handles model imports and management, and Deployments can serve models through REST API endpoints. The platform is suited to teams that want managed compute and a connected path from experimentation to serving without starting with a large monthly commitment.
Pricing follows a freemium structure. The Free plans include 5 GB of storage, with free CPU and GPU machine types available for eligible Notebook use. Pro — User costs $8 per month and includes 15 GB of storage, while Growth — User costs $39 per month and includes 50 GB. Team plans include Free — Team with 5 GB, Pro — Team at $12 per month with 15 GB, and Growth — Team at $39 per month with 50 GB. Paid subscription plans use hourly billing with maximum monthly charges. This gives smaller teams a low-cost entry point while adding storage and paid plan capacity as usage grows.
Gradient also fits teams that need more than notebook sessions. It stores model artifacts and performance metrics, supports persistent hosted storage and external storage providers, and connects with Git LFS, Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, S3-compatible storage, and GitHub. CLI and SDK management covers Notebooks, Workflows, and Deployments, with web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and API access. The trade-off is narrower lifecycle depth than a broader MLOps platform, and legacy Gradient API endpoints are deprecated. Choose Gradient for affordable GPU experimentation and a focused route to model serving; consider an alternative if extensive lifecycle coverage is the primary requirement.
