OVHcloud Secret Manager is a managed cloud service for storing credentials, API keys, SSH keys, certificates, and other sensitive application data as versioned key-value secrets. It is aimed at teams running web applications, microservices, Kubernetes clusters, or CI/CD environments within the OVHcloud ecosystem. Access is available through the OVHcloud Control Panel and APIs, with OVHcloud IAM providing access control and role management.

The service has one paid plan, Secret Manager, priced at GBP 0.0258 per secret or version per month, billed monthly. Prices are shown excluding VAT and vary by region. The plan includes versioned and regional storage, OVHcloud IAM access control, a REST API, a HashiCorp Vault KV2-compatible API, and audit logs through the OVHcloud Logs Data Platform. Storage costs are therefore tied to both secrets and their versions, which is useful to consider when retaining historical values. There is no public free plan or free-secret allowance.

Its strongest fit is for organizations that want OVHcloud-native controls and integrations rather than a standalone secrets platform. Encryption uses OVHcloud KMS-managed keys, while expiration and maximum-version controls help govern secret lifecycles. Kubernetes External Secrets Operator integration connects stored values with Kubernetes workloads, and Vault-compatible API access can support applications designed around that interface. Teams needing self-hosted deployment, AI features, or a broader selection of paid tiers should look elsewhere. OVHcloud Secret Manager is a focused choice for OVHcloud users prioritizing low per-secret pricing, regional storage, and straightforward API-based access.

OVHcloud Secret Manager pros and cons

    • Very low per-secret/version monthly pricing

  • Where it doesn't
    • No free plan or free-secret allowance
    • Cloud deployment only
    • No AI features and one paid plan
