A flexible IAM platform for teams choosing between managed cloud and self-hosted deployment.

Ory is an open-source identity and access management platform for customer-facing applications, B2B SaaS products, partners, machines, and AI agents. It combines user identity management, authentication, enterprise SSO, directory synchronization, authorization, permissions, and API protection. Teams can deploy it through the managed Ory Network cloud service, use self-hosted enterprise software, or work with open-source components. Its API-first approach supports web, mobile, and embedded applications, making it a fit for teams that need more than a basic employee login layer.
Pricing is organized around environments and usage rather than per-user billing. The Developer plan is free and includes two development environments. Production adds one production environment, three staging environments, permissions, and machine-to-machine tokens. Growth costs $9,350 per year with annual billing and includes two production environments, five staging environments, multi-tenancy, B2B SSO using OIDC, and a 99.9% uptime SLA. Enterprise adds managed SaaS deployment, multi-region deployments with data residency, and a 99.99% uptime SLA. The Ory Enterprise License supports self-hosting with full control of hosting and custom pricing.
Ory’s main strength is breadth across identity and access workflows: password, passkey, passwordless email and SMS authentication; TOTP, WebAuthn, and recovery-code MFA; SAML and OIDC SSO; SCIM provisioning; and fine-grained authorization. Integrations include Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta, BambooHR, AWS API Gateway, GitHub, GitLab, Amazon SES, and Twilio. Choose Ory if deployment flexibility, open-source infrastructure, and modular IAM coverage matter. Teams seeking a straightforward, seat-priced SSO product may prefer a simpler alternative.
