OrbitEquip is a browser-based tool and equipment management service for contractors and field crews. It tracks individually identified tools across vans, jobsites, warehouses, and shops. Teams can print QR labels, scan from a phone browser, record check-ins and check-outs, view current holders and assigned locations, review checkout history, and manage maintenance issues. Its permanent Free plan supports up to 25 tools with unlimited users, roles, and invites, making it suited to small teams that need a shared browser system rather than a native mobile app.

Pricing scales by tool volume. Free costs $0 per month and includes QR check-in/check-out and printable QR labels. Starter costs $15 per month for up to 500 tools and adds CSV import of existing tool lists. Pro costs $35 per month for up to 2,500 tools and adds priority email support. Business costs $70 per month for up to 10,000 tools and adds priority support. Annual billing is also offered. The paid tiers are mainly differentiated by tool limits, CSV import, and support level, so smaller teams can start without a subscription while larger inventories have a clear upgrade path.

The product’s strongest fit is focused equipment custody: records can include serial numbers, categories, locations, and history, while search and filtering work across names, serials, QR codes, statuses, categories, and locations. Maintenance issue reporting supports photos and status tracking, and planned maintenance scheduling extends the system beyond simple check-in/check-out. The trade-off is a narrow platform footprint. OrbitEquip is web-only and does not provide native mobile apps, offline scanning, barcode scanning, GPS tracking, or integrations. Choose it for straightforward QR-based tracking in a browser; consider an alternative if mobile apps, location telemetry, barcode workflows, or connected business systems are requirements.
