Oracle Cloud Observability and Management Platform brings together Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services for monitoring applications, infrastructure, databases, logs, and operational data. It is aimed at DevOps teams, IT operations, developers, and site reliability engineers managing Oracle Cloud, hybrid, multicloud, and selected on-premises environments. The platform is available through web and API access, with out-of-the-box infrastructure and resource metrics alongside custom metrics published through the Monitoring API.

The published plans show a free plan, while Oracle pricing is primarily consumption-based rather than organized around one recurring paid-plan price for the overall platform. The free offering and 90-day retention provide a clear starting point for evaluation and smaller monitoring needs. Paid usage can extend across the platform’s monitoring and management capabilities, but teams should assess expected consumption across metrics, logs, applications, and related services before selecting it for larger environments.

Its strongest advantage is breadth within an Oracle-centered ecosystem. Metrics Explorer supports Monitoring Query Language queries, alarms can use threshold or absence conditions, and dashboards can combine metrics and logs. Application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, centralized logging, and log analytics broaden coverage beyond infrastructure metrics. Notifications and remediation can connect with Oracle Notifications, Oracle Streaming, PagerDuty, email, Slack, Oracle Functions, webhooks, and Grafana. Teams that want one Oracle-oriented observability foundation should consider it; organizations seeking a simpler standalone monitoring tool or a non-proprietary query experience may prefer an alternative. OCI Stack Monitoring SKUs are scheduled for retirement on January 23, 2027, with capabilities moving into OCI Monitoring.
