Oracle Autonomous Database on Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure provides fully managed Autonomous AI Database services on physically isolated Exadata compute, memory, networking, and storage. It is designed for organizations running transactional, mixed, analytical, data-warehouse, JSON, or AI workloads that need predictable performance, data isolation, high availability, and enterprise governance. Deployments are available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Exadata Cloud@Customer in a customer data center, with web and API access.

The freemium model includes a 30-day free trial and dedicated developer database plans with no expiration date. The plan lineup also includes license-included dedicated ECPU options for Autonomous Transaction Processing and Autonomous Data Warehouse, plus bring-your-own-license versions of both services. Dedicated Exadata infrastructure is required for the developer plans. The service automates provisioning, configuration, patching, tuning, scaling, security, and backup operations, while backup retention can be configured from 7 to 95 days. That combination suits teams that want managed operations without giving up dedicated infrastructure.

Its ecosystem fit is strongest for Oracle-centered environments. Connectivity includes Oracle GoldenGate, OCI Data Integration, Oracle Data Safe, Oracle APEX, Oracle Database@AWS, and Oracle Database@Azure. Autonomous Data Guard provides standby databases and failover protection, while always-on encryption, Private AI Vector Search, and Select AI extend the platform beyond core database hosting. Organizations needing broad workload coverage and isolated Exadata resources should consider it; teams seeking open-source software, a general-purpose hosting service, or a deployment model without dedicated Exadata infrastructure should look elsewhere.
