OpenText Core Cloud-to-Cloud Backup protects Google Workspace data, including Gmail, Drive, Shared Drives, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and metadata. It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise teams that need a cloud backup layer, particularly organizations managing multiple domains or with retention and recovery requirements. Administrators can schedule daily backups or run them on demand, then restore data at a point in time, at granular level, across users or through self-service options. Unlimited retention and historical snapshots support longer recovery windows.
The two plans distinguish Shared Drive coverage: Google Workspace includes Mail, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks backup plus Drive backup, while Shared Drive is available standalone per GB. Google Workspace Complete includes Shared Drive backup alongside those other workloads. According to the vendor's pricing information, subscriptions are quote-based with monthly or annual terms. That makes it harder to compare cost before speaking with sales; teams should clarify storage charges and the plan scope for their domains before choosing.
For organizations that need control over stored copies, the service supports AWS S3 or bring-your-own storage, with encryption and immutable object lock. Archives can also be exported to ZIP, S3, Azure, Box or Dropbox, and integrations include Splunk SIEM, Autotask and Backup Radar. Searchable activity and audit logs, backup notifications, MFA/OAuth authentication and stated ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA compliance support are relevant to governance needs. Support is available by email, chat, phone and documentation, with 24/7 support. The trade-off is focus: this is a backup and recovery product, not a broad Google Workspace administration suite. Choose it for protected copies, restores and multi-domain backup; consider a different tool if direct administration is the main requirement.
