Open Live is an open-source live broadcast production platform for broadcasters, production teams, and remote crews. Its browser-based studio combines vision mixing, audio mixing, multiviewing, graphics compositing, camera ingest, and low-latency WebRTC output. It suits technical teams that need cloud or on-premises deployment through Kubernetes, rather than teams looking only for a simple hosted streaming workspace.

The published plans show a free option alongside three monthly paid tiers. Personal costs €15 per month and includes Open Live, Open Live Studio, CouchDB, and the full broadcast production suite, but requires bringing your own Strom instance. Professional costs €69 per month and adds shared Strom with GPU in Frankfurt for demos and evaluation; it is not suitable for guaranteed live production. Hosted GPU costs €750 per month and provides a dedicated GPU-backed Strom instance hosted and managed by Eyevinn, with guaranteed capacity. Each listed plan can be canceled anytime.

Open Live’s strongest fit is production work that benefits from detailed control: the vision mixer supports cuts, transitions, DSK layers, picture-in-picture, graphics overlays, and fade-to-black, while the audio mixer includes faders, aux sends, group buses, AFV, and EBU R128 metering. Browser multiview monitoring uses WebRTC with sub-500ms latency, and Stream Deck control is available through Bitfocus Companion. Choose it for flexible infrastructure and production depth; teams needing a broader destination ecosystem or a straightforward managed workflow should consider a different type of studio.
