Open-AudIT is an open-source IT asset discovery and auditing platform for IT operations, security and compliance teams, managed service providers, government organizations, and enterprises. It inventories devices across network, on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, collecting hardware, software, firmware, configuration, and cloud asset data. Discovery uses agentless protocols such as SNMP, WMI, and SSH, with optional Windows and Linux agents for specialized environments. Web, Windows, Linux, and API access support hybrid deployment models.
The Free plan provides the open-source edition, agentless network discovery, device, software, and hardware inventory, and community support. Professional costs $399 per year and adds automated and scheduled discovery, interactive dashboards, vulnerability detection and reporting, and commercial support. Enterprise adds AI-powered security compliance, cloud discovery and auditing, remote collectors, and priority support. The published plans also include a 14-day free trial, while REST JSON API access and CSV, XML, and JSON exports support reporting and downstream workflows.
Open-AudIT’s breadth is its main differentiator: configuration change detection, CVE reporting, compliance reporting, software license reporting, and integrations with ServiceNow CMDB, Jira Service Management, Splunk, PagerDuty, REST API, and webhooks extend the platform beyond basic inventory. Founded in 2004 and offered by FirstWave Cloud Technology, it suits organizations that want open-source control alongside commercial upgrade paths. Teams needing only a lightweight inventory tool may find its security, compliance, cloud, and reporting scope broader than necessary; organizations managing mixed environments should consider it when agentless discovery and audit visibility are priorities.
