The Online Teacher Development Platform (OTDP) is a Department of Basic Education initiative for continuing professional teacher development in South Africa. It serves individual educators with microlearning modules, courses, learning pathways and professional learning goals, while provinces, districts and approved providers can manage facilitators, host courses and coordinate activities. Educators can also track certificates, badges and CPTD status in one web-based workspace.
OTDP uses a free-access model. Its learning tools cover searching and completing microlearning, creating and sharing professional learning pathways, setting goals, and viewing completion and activity reports. Event management spans online, face-to-face and blended formats, giving providers a way to schedule activities and manage facilitators.
