Our verdict on Olauncher

Olauncher is a free Android launcher for people who want a quieter, text-based home screen rather than a conventional grid of app icons. It is aimed at individual users seeking a minimalist layout and fewer visual distractions. The swipe-up app list offers quick search, while users can rename or hide apps and open apps or notifications with swipe gestures. Daily wallpapers and light and dark themes provide some variation without changing the product’s text-first approach.

Its feature set is focused on navigation rather than visual customization. A double-tap locks the screen, and the developer lists dual-app and work-profile support. The launcher is open source under GPLv3 and is available through Google Play, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, and APK download. These distribution options and the published feature set make it relevant to users who value an open-source launcher and straightforward app access. Icon customization and grid controls are not verified built-in options, so users who want to tune an icon-heavy layout should look elsewhere.

Olauncher is free, with no paid tier described in its published offering. That makes it a direct fit for solo Android users who want a minimalist screen without a subscription. The developer lists email support and GDPR compliance. Choose it for its text-based interface, quick search, gestures, and work-profile support; skip it if extensive visual controls, icon styling, or a conventional launcher layout are priorities.
