Our verdict on OKTAV
OKTAV brings digital piano scores and practice tools together for pianists who want more than static pages. Its library contains more than 20,000 arrangements, including solo pieces, accompaniments and lead sheets, and is available on the web, iOS and Android. Interactive scores pair MIDI audio with a moving playhead, while the player includes annotations, a metronome, looping and automatic scrolling. These tools make the service a fit for focused individual practice; players seeking broad sheet music across instruments may prefer a platform with a wider scope.
Practice support is the main distinction. Users can adjust playback, loop bars or sections, and choose page display modes; PDF self-upload lets them use their own scores in the player. Interactive features are available on a selection of pieces rather than necessarily every score. Subscriptions include print credits and PDF downloads for individual purchases provide another route to material. The Learning plan adds more structured instruction: video courses, song tutorials, method books and annotated scores with fingerings, with guidance by piano teachers listed among the monthly plan highlights. Choose Learning if lessons and score guidance matter alongside library access; choose Playing if interactive scores are the priority.
According to the published plans, Playing costs €10.75 per user per month with annual billing or €16.90 monthly. It includes unlimited access to 20,000+ arrangements, interactive scores and 24 prints on the annual plan or 2 per month on the monthly plan. Learning is €20.75 per user per month annually or €39.90 monthly, adding 100+ video courses and learning materials. A 7-day trial requires payment information; printing during the trial ends it and starts the paid subscription. With no free plan and a piano-only focus, OKTAV suits committed piano learners more than casual browsers or musicians seeking a broader catalog.
