Okta Customer Identity Cloud review
A broad enterprise identity platform for large customer-identity programs
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
Okta Customer Identity Cloud is a customer identity and access management platform for consumer applications, B2B SaaS products, and digital services. It supports passwordless authentication through passkeys, biometrics, magic links, email and SMS one-time codes, and push notifications. Teams can also use OIDC-based single sign-on, SAML and WS-Federation federation, user management, authorization, and customizable login experiences across web applications and APIs. Its customer organizations, roles, and access controls make it suited to large programs with varied identity requirements.
Pricing separates experimentation from production deployment. The Integrator Free Plan provides a non-production environment for up to 10 active users, and the trial does not expire. The Enterprise base platform is listed at $3,000 per month when billed annually, providing the foundation for securing customer applications, unlimited OIDC and outbound SAML apps, Okta APIs, and enterprise-grade SLAs. The B2C Suite adds 50 workflows, multi-factor authentication, and single sign-on with unlimited OIN apps. The B2B Suite adds inbound federation, identity governance, and lifecycle management. These tiers give larger organizations a clear path from integration to broader identity operations, but the annual-billed enterprise entry point is substantial.
Integration depth is a central strength. Okta Customer Identity Cloud includes APIs and SDKs, 30+ SDKs and Quickstarts, and Google Workspace Directory Sync for users and groups. Provisioning with attribute mapping supports structured user and group administration, while passkeys and WebAuthn cover biometric authentication. Choose it when one platform must serve passwordless access, enterprise federation, customer organizations, and application integration at scale. Smaller teams with simpler login requirements should consider a narrower product with a lower production starting price.
