Our verdict on OkMap Mobile
OkMap Mobile is an Android GPS navigation app aimed at outdoor users, including hikers, mountain bikers, geocachers and off-road travelers. Its focus is practical route work: load custom MBTiles maps for offline use, navigate to waypoints, or follow GPX tracks and routes. It also records tracks and lets users create or edit waypoints, tracks and routes. That makes it a fit for people who want to bring their own map and GPX material into a mobile outdoor workflow, rather than a general-purpose mapping app across platforms.
The strongest distinction is its combination of custom offline maps with route and track tools. Compatible online TMS and WMS services extend the map options when connectivity is available. Navigation includes a compass, voice guidance, off-route alarms and waypoint proximity alerts; recorded tracks can be explored through statistics, charts and elevation profiles. The app can also download waypoints from OpenStreetMap, and its listed integrations include Google Maps, Geocaching.com, PeakFinder.org and OkMap Desktop. Buyers who already work with these formats and services have a more specific reason to consider it than someone seeking a simple map viewer.
The published listing identifies OkMap Mobile as a paid app, with a Google Play price displayed as ¥490 in the shown region; the price may vary by region. There is no stated free plan. Offline use is centered on custom MBTiles maps, so suitability depends on having maps prepared in that format; geographic coverage is not stated. It is also Android-only, with community support listed. Choose it if custom maps, GPX route following and track editing matter more than platform breadth. Those seeking cross-platform availability or a ready-made offline map catalog should consider alternatives.
