Octopus App is Octopus Cards Limited’s mobile app for managing Octopus cards and Octopus Wallet accounts on iOS and Android. It brings card and Wallet balances, transaction history, top-ups and payments together, with additional tools for bills, transfers and selected transit passes. The app is free to download, and its mix of wallet functions and public-transport features makes it a practical fit for people managing Octopus payments in Hong Kong. It is less suited to someone seeking a general-purpose payment app without a focus on Octopus services.
The app covers several payment tasks in one place: users can top up cards or Wallet funds by bank transfer, FPS or linked cards, pay bills including selected government bills, and make online merchant payments. Wallet users can send money to other users, bank accounts or e-wallets, and can make payment requests. For travel, the app supports PromptPay QR payments in Thailand and purchase of selected public-transport monthly passes.
