OCS Inventory is an open-source IT asset inventory and deployment solution for organizations managing computers, servers and network equipment. Agents collect hardware and software data, while IP-based subnet discovery and SNMP discovery identify devices that cannot run an agent. A central web console presents inventory information, with support for Windows, macOS and Linux environments. It is suited to teams that want broad asset coverage through a self-hosted or web-based system, plus API access and integrations with ITSM-NG, GLPI, CMDBuild and iTop.

The pricing structure covers distinct operating models. OCS Free costs €0 per month and includes the complete software, community support, plugin access and unlimited agents. OCS Cloud costs €250 per month and adds SaaS hosting, publisher support and included updates. OCS Pro costs €2500 per year and provides publisher-supported on-premise deployment, unlimited support, advanced documentation and project expertise; its annual fee also combines with a per-agent charge. Organizations choosing OCS Inventory should match the plan to their preferred responsibility for hosting, support and deployment.

Its feature set extends beyond basic inventory. Remote package deployment over HTTP/HTTPS supports software distribution, while the REST API and plugins provide ways to connect the inventory with other systems. CVE detection and reporting adds a vulnerability-focused view of collected assets. The main boundary is network visualization: OCS Inventory offers subnet and SNMP discovery but does not provide topology mapping. Choose it when agent-based inventory, network-device discovery and open-source flexibility matter most. Teams that need visual topology mapping as a central workflow should consider a different network discovery product.
