NVIDIA Config Manager is an open-source, Helm-deployed platform for bootstrapping and operating network infrastructure in large-scale data centers. It combines DHCP-based onboarding, zero-touch provisioning, template-based configuration rendering, configuration storage, workflow automation, and web interfaces. Teams managing NVIDIA network infrastructure can use it for day-zero provisioning and day-two operations such as configuration deployment, backups, cable validation, password rotation, firmware upgrades, and reprovisioning.

Its strongest differentiator is the breadth of operational workflows in one platform. Config Manager supports approvals, deployment, backup, and validation workflows, while versioned intended and backup configurations support comparison over time. Configuration drift auditing adds a way to compare deployed state with intended state, and REST APIs support workflow execution and configuration management. Nautobot is bundled as the default device and infrastructure modeling provider, with other providers able to integrate through a DCIM SDK.

The main qualification is product maturity and ecosystem fit. The official repository identifies NVIDIA Config Manager as a Developer Preview and says it is not recommended for production use, which makes it better suited to evaluation, development, or teams prepared to assess an evolving platform. The verified integration list is limited to Nautobot, so organizations centered on another inventory or DCIM system should examine the provider path carefully. Choose it for open-source automation with deep provisioning and configuration operations; choose an alternative when production readiness or a broader established integration ecosystem is the priority.
