Our verdict on notendownload
notendownload is an online shop for licensed digital sheet music, aimed at musicians, music teachers and ensembles looking for individual scores rather than a subscription library. Its catalogue covers classical, pop, jazz and other genres, with arrangements across instruments and group sizes. Search and filters for instrument, ensemble and difficulty help narrow the catalogue, while previews let buyers inspect a score before purchase.
The purchase model is straightforward: customers buy scores individually, then download them as PDFs for viewing or personal printing. According to the help page, prices start at approximately €0.99 per score; this is an indicative individual-score price, not a recurring plan. Purchased scores remain available in the customer account for repeated downloads. That suits buyers who want to own selected digital files, but is less suited to people seeking subscription access across a broad library or predictable recurring access costs.
The product’s main strength is its publisher catalogue combined with title-level previews and audio samples or playback tracks where available. Optional playback tracks can be selected for some scores, which may help buyers assess a specific title before purchasing. The trade-off is a narrow web-storefront focus: scores are delivered as PDFs rather than read or annotated in an in-product score reader. The web shop is best for solo musicians, teachers and small ensembles who want licensed PDFs and can work with separate PDF software; buyers prioritizing integrated performance tools should consider a different type of platform.
