No-IP Managed DNS hosts authoritative DNS for organizations managing domains, websites, email, and applications. Its Plus tier is aimed at customers with custom domains who want a low-cost service with broad record support, while Premium adds DNSSEC and API access. The service also offers secondary DNS for backup authoritative resolution, making it relevant to teams that need primary hosting alongside a secondary option. It is less suited to buyers who need DNSSEC or programmatic management at the lower tier.

According to No-IP's published annual-billing prices, Plus Managed DNS costs $2.92 per month and includes one DNS zone, unlimited DNS records, five DDNS update clients, an Anycast DNS network, an uptime guarantee, and advanced DNS records. Those records include TXT, SRV, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, and CAA. Premium Managed DNS costs $8.33 per month, also for one zone with unlimited records, and raises the allowance to 25 DDNS update clients. It adds DNSSEC, a RESTful DNS management API, and team login. Choose Plus if its included features meet the need; Premium is the relevant tier when DNSSEC or API access is required.

The feature set combines primary authoritative DNS, rapid propagation, secondary DNS with instant zone transfer, and DDNS clients for custom domains. That breadth can suit organizations handling website and email records as well as dynamic addresses, without requiring a separate service for each of those listed functions. The main constraint is scope: both plans include one zone, and Premium's higher price is necessary for DNSSEC and API access. Buyers who need several zones under these plans, or who require a documented health-check feature, should compare alternatives. For a single-zone setup where varied records and Anycast matter more than lower-tier API access, Plus is the straightforward fit.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Plus covers one DNS zone.
    • DNSSEC and RESTful API access require the Premium tier.
    • Premium costs more than Plus and still covers one DNS zone.
