Our verdict on Newer Launcher
Newer Launcher gives Android users a native-style home-screen launcher with additional controls for organizing and personalizing the app drawer and home screen. It suits people who want to change how apps are listed, adjust screen layouts, and apply themes or icon packs without switching away from Android. The Google Play listing says it is available for Android 5.0 and later; the app is listed as containing ads and in-app purchases.
Drawer options are a central strength: users can choose vertical or horizontal scrolling, alphabetical or compact app listings, and an A–Z scroller. There is also a widgets drawer organized by app, plus app search and styling controls for its search bar. Home-screen grid size, icon and label size and color, themes, icon packs, and wallpapers provide further personalization. These settings make the launcher a fit for users who value layout and appearance choices; those looking primarily for a simpler, minimally configurable launcher may prefer a more restrained option.
Gesture controls include double-tap, swipes, and pinches, while app hiding and locking hidden apps add privacy-oriented controls. A launcher layout lock can help prevent accidental changes. Newer Launcher is freemium, with a free plan, and the listing notes in-app purchases without stating their prices. It is an Android-only mobile app from N Dev Team, with email support. Choose it for its drawer, grid, and icon controls; look elsewhere if a verified backup feature is essential to your launcher choice.
