Our verdict on New Masters Academy
New Masters Academy is an online art education platform for beginners, serious students, and working artists. Its course catalog covers drawing, painting, anatomy, illustration, animation, sculpture, landscape painting, and related disciplines. The platform combines on-demand video courses with structured learning tracks, interactive assignments, course completion tracking, certificates, downloadable resources, and community discussions. It is suited to learners who want a guided curriculum rather than a collection of disconnected tutorials.
The published plans show a paid membership starting at $49 per month for Library. That plan includes on-demand courses, learning tracks, full digital campus access, live community events, downloadable resources, and a customized MasterPlan. Library+ adds an image reference library, interactive 3D model reference library, rare art book library, and live class recordings. Assignment feedback, critiques, and certificates are available through separate programs or token-based services, so learners should review how those options fit their intended study path.
Reference and feedback features are the main differentiators. Students can work through structured material, receive written or video feedback through interactive assignments, attend live classes, and use visual references or 3D models for practice. Progress tracking and certificates add a clearer sense of course completion, while art-history content broadens the learning experience beyond technique. The tradeoff is a web-only, paid model with no free plan, which makes it a better fit for committed learners seeking organized study than for casual users who want occasional lessons or mobile access.
