NetBird is an open-source Zero Trust networking platform for organizations and home users that need encrypted connections between users, devices, servers, cloud workloads, and private networks. It combines peer-to-peer WireGuard networking with identity-based access policies, network segmentation, private DNS, network routes, and site-to-site connectivity. Teams can choose the managed cloud service or self-host NetBird on company infrastructure. It supports web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, API, and self-hosted deployments, making it a fit for hybrid environments and infrastructure teams.

The pricing structure gives smaller teams a clear entry point. The Free plan costs €0 per user per month and includes P2P connections and encryption, social SSO and MFA, access controls, private DNS, network routes, and community support. Team costs €6 per user per month and adds enterprise identity-provider SSO and MFA, SCIM provisioning, audit event logging, and ticket-based support. Business costs €12 per user per month and adds device approvals, MDM and EDR controls, device posture checks, connection traffic event logging, and event streaming. Enterprise adds custom integrations, custom invoicing, priority support, custom MSAs and SLAs, DORA compliance, and Solutions Engineer consultation.

Its ecosystem is a strong part of the offering. NetBird integrates with Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, GitHub, Authentik, Keycloak, Zitadel, JumpCloud, Microsoft Intune, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Huntress, Jamf Pro, Kandji, and Terraform. The public API and infrastructure automation support extend its role beyond a basic remote-access VPN, while SIEM event streaming and posture controls suit teams with broader security operations. Choose NetBird if open-source code, self-hosting, hybrid connectivity, and identity-aware administration matter. Teams needing advanced device governance should plan for Business, while organizations requiring tailored commercial terms should consider Enterprise.
