Our verdict on MyStory.today
MyStory.today is a cloud-based writing application for novelists and storytellers who want drafting and story planning in one workspace. Its editor supports scene formatting and a customizable toolbar, while the chapter and scene outliner, folders, labels, timelines, corkboards, and linked character and location profiles cover the organizational side of long-form writing. Projects sync across the web, iOS, and Android, making the product a natural fit for solo authors who write across phones, tablets, and browsers.
Pricing is straightforward. The Free plan costs €0 forever and includes one book project, basic MyStory AI access, sync across all devices, limited editor modules, and writing and export. The Author Plan costs €23.99 per year, billed annually, and adds an Advanced AI Assistant, multiple book projects, full editor access, unlimited customization, advanced analytics, and writing targets and goals. The upgrade is most relevant to authors managing more than one manuscript or needing the complete editor. Both plans include core writing access, while the paid tier expands project capacity, customization, analytics, and AI assistance.
The standout strength is the combination of planning views and AI-assisted tools. Authors can move between scene summaries on a corkboard, multiple storylines with date ranges on a timeline, structured folders and labels, and profiles linked to scenes. AI features cover tone detection, summaries, titles, and text transformation, while writing statistics and goals add progress tracking. PDF and DOCX export support standard handoff formats, and automatic synchronization with cloud backups supports a cross-device workflow. MyStory.today is a good choice for individual authors who prioritize planning and mobile access; authors seeking built-in publishing, collaboration, or EPUB export should choose a tool aligned with those needs.
