Our verdict on mydlink
mydlink is D-Link’s mobile app for managing compatible cameras, smart plugs and sensors on iOS and Android. It suits households already using D-Link devices that want live viewing, recorded events and basic smart-home controls in one place. Camera setup uses scanning and Wi-Fi connection; the app also supports scenes, schedules and location-based monitoring. Compatibility and available functions vary by camera, so the experience depends on the devices in the home.
Cloud plans are structured around retention and pinned clips. Free provides one day of recording and 50 pinned clips; Lite has the same limits for $0.99 monthly or $9.99 yearly. Basic costs $2.49 monthly or $24.99 yearly and extends recording to seven days with 100 pinned clips. Premium costs $4.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly, with 14 days of recording and 500 pinned clips. The included Free recording plan lasts one year, so it is a limited-duration option rather than ongoing free cloud storage. Buyers mainly seeking longer clip history should compare the higher tiers against their retention needs.
Beyond cloud clips, mydlink combines camera views with smart-home routines: motion- or sound-triggered recording, downloads and sharing, schedules, scenes and geofencing. Some cameras add person, multi-zone motion, boundary-crossing and priority-zone detection, while compatible models may record locally to microSD, NVR or NAS. Alexa and Google Assistant display support provides another way to stream camera video. Choose mydlink if D-Link compatibility and affordable cloud plans are central; those with other camera brands, or who need a consistent feature set across devices, should look at alternatives.
