MoodleCloud is Moodle’s managed, cloud-hosted learning management platform for individuals, educators, course sellers, and small organisations. It provides a preconfigured Moodle site without server administration, with unlimited courses and activities, automatic Moodle LMS updates, automatic course backups, and Moodle App Premium features. The platform is delivered on the web and supports learning delivery, course sales, and online conferencing through BigBlueButton for up to 100 users.

The published plans are billed annually in AUD and are organised as Starter, Mini, Small, Medium, and Standard. Premium Mobile App features are included across the plans. Small adds course sales through Stripe, while Medium adds Stripe payments and a custom-domain add-on. Standard includes a custom domain. PayPal and Stripe support give course sellers payment options, while Google Drive and Dropbox connections extend file storage workflows. A 28-day trial provides time to evaluate the hosted Moodle setup before committing to a paid plan.

MoodleCloud suits teams that want Moodle’s core learning environment without managing hosting infrastructure. Its combination of automatic updates, backups, conferencing, integrations, and unlimited courses keeps the focus on course delivery rather than server administration. The trade-offs are the paid-only model, web-only platform listing, predefined user and storage limits, and plan-gated custom-domain support. Teams with larger or more complex requirements should consider Moodle Solutions instead; MoodleCloud is better aligned with straightforward learning needs and small organisations that want an official hosted Moodle service.
