Our verdict on MoodBoardly
MoodBoardly is a web-based mood board tool for interior designers and other creative users who want to move from visual direction to product planning. It combines AI-generated mood boards with an editor for images, products, text, headlines, and color palettes. Users can crop, flip, duplicate, and remove backgrounds from items, discover similar products, share boards, and generate shopping lists. The product is presented within the MoodboardAI creative suite and focuses on connecting inspiration, presentation, and sourcing in one workflow.
The free plan provides AI generations, chat about a design, automated shopping list creation, and color palette generation. The Personal Moodboard plan costs $29 per month and includes 50 AI generations, 10 boards, 200 one-click custom product imports, and 100 AI background removals per month. Business Moodboard costs $99 per month and raises those allowances to 200 AI generations, 100 boards, 400 product imports, and 200 background removals. Premium Moodboard costs $199 per month, with 400 AI generations, 200 boards, 800 product imports, and 400 background removals. The paid tiers are structured around higher monthly production limits rather than a separate platform experience.
MoodBoardly’s strongest fit is for solo designers, decorators, and creative users who need AI-assisted concept boards with practical shopping-list output. Product importing, background removal, similar-product discovery, and board sharing support a visually led sourcing process, while the web format keeps access straightforward. The trade-off is that it is not positioned as a dedicated collaborative workspace, and its paid pricing may be difficult to justify for occasional personal projects. Choose it when AI generation and shopping workflows are central; consider another tool when team collaboration or a broader platform footprint is the priority.
