Our verdict on Momento
Momento is a private journaling app for iPhone users who want to capture personal moments and bring connected activity into one searchable record. Entries can include notes, photos, and videos, with tags for people and places. Calendar, day, month, and year views help users revisit memories, while events organize related moments. The app is also positioned for travel, work, pregnancy, dream, and health journals.
Its strongest distinction is its connected-memory approach. Momento can import activity from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Swarm, Spotify, Medium, Goodreads, RSS, Atom, and YouTube. Users can search by keywords and metadata, create reminders and streaks, and browse summaries and timelines. This makes it a good fit for people who want a journal that includes both manually written entries and activity from other services. Users seeking a simple writing-only journal may find this broader structure unnecessary.
The free plan includes notes, photos and videos, entry search, and local and iCloud backup. Momento Premium adds unlimited feed history, export, hourly feed updates, passcode and biometric protection, multiple photos per moment, themes, and formatting; it also includes future premium features. The starting price is 3.49, and a monthly Premium free trial is available. Backup and restore support includes local and iCloud options, while exported journal data is provided as plain text alongside media. Choose Momento if you use an iPhone and want connected, media-rich memory keeping with privacy controls. Choose another option if you need a non-iOS app or a different export format.
