Momatu review
A mobile-only family timeline with private sharing, chat, and stated unlimited storage.

Momatu is a private photo and video storage app for families documenting milestones and sharing moments with invited relatives. Parents, children, grandparents, and other family members can create a private family home, upload photos and videos, and follow a shared timeline. Automatic date organization, comments, reactions, family chat, and direct chat support an ongoing family record rather than a simple archive. Managed member timelines also cover children and pets.
Its main strength is the focused family-sharing experience. Families can filter moments by member, download individual items to a device, and keep conversations alongside the timeline. The invite-only model suits relatives who want a private space instead of public social networks. The published product details state unlimited storage, while the category specifications include shared albums, family sharing, and video backup. Momatu is available on iOS and Android, making it suited to mobile-first households, but it does not offer a desktop app.
Momatu is a good fit for families that value private, shared timelines and lightweight communication around photos and videos. It is less suitable for people who need desktop access, AI-powered organization, or a broader photo-management ecosystem. Official pages describe both free use and a 30-day trial followed by a paid family plan, with monthly and annual subscriptions listed. The subscription highlights cover family photo and video storage plus private family sharing. Choose Momatu when family participation and privacy are the priority; consider another service when desktop workflows or advanced discovery tools matter more.
