Mockfly is a browser-based API mocking service for developers and frontend teams that need testable endpoints before production APIs are available. It supports hosted HTTPS mock endpoints, configurable methods and responses, status codes, headers, delays, conditional rules, and dynamic routes. A local CLI server provides an offline option, while WebSocket mocking extends the service beyond standard REST workflows.

The pricing structure starts with a free Starter plan providing 500 requests per day, one project, four endpoints, and two responses per endpoint. Pro costs €15 per month and adds unlimited requests, projects, endpoints, and responses per endpoint, along with AI-generated mock API JSON and a custom domain with TLS. Team costs €49 per month and includes five seats, everything in Pro, priority support, and a centralized team invoice. Company costs €199 per month and adds OpenAPI or Postman import setup, centralized billing, custom seats and integrations, and an SLA. The plans make the free tier suitable for small, bounded projects, while paid tiers remove usage and project limits and add team controls.

Mockfly’s main strength is the depth of its response modeling. Conditional rules can inspect paths, queries, headers, and bodies; Faker.js supports dynamic data templating; and request logs and automatic API documentation help teams inspect and share mock behavior. OpenAPI and Swagger imports can reduce manual setup, with Postman, HAR, a Chrome Extension, WebSocket support, and a public REST API broadening its ecosystem fit. Choose Mockfly when hosted HTTPS mocks, local CLI execution, dynamic responses, or WebSocket support matter together. Teams needing only a small number of fixed endpoints may find Starter sufficient, while organizations seeking broader administration should consider the Team or Company plans.

Mockfly pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Conditional matching across paths, queries, headers, and request bodies
    • OpenAPI, Swagger, Postman, and HAR support with automatic documentation
    • Hosted HTTPS endpoints plus offline local CLI and WebSocket mocking
  • Where it doesn't
    • Starter is limited to 500 requests per day, one project, and four endpoints
    • Advanced collaboration and administration begin on higher-priced plans
    • Custom domains with TLS are available only on the Pro plan
