MiniTool ShadowMaker is backup and disaster recovery software for Windows PCs, workstations, and servers. It covers files, folders, operating systems, disks, and partitions, with backup destinations including local, external, shared, and NAS storage. Its audience is Windows users who want image-based protection, scheduled backups, disk cloning, and recovery tools in one application. The free edition suits individual Windows computers, while paid editions extend recovery and business capabilities.
The plan structure gives buyers several pricing paths. Free includes file, system, partition, and disk backup and restore, scheduled backup, disk cloning, and support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. Pro Monthly Subscription costs $20 per month for one PC and adds WinPE backup and restore plus Universal Restore. Pro Annual Subscription costs $10 per month billed annually for two PCs and includes WinPE backup and restore. Pro Ultimate costs $158 one time for three PCs and adds a perpetual license, Universal Restore, and backup-image encryption. Business Standard costs $129 one time for one PC or server, while Business Deluxe costs $399 one time for 10 PCs or servers; both include Windows Server support and remote backup, with Deluxe adding network booting.
Its strongest fit is broad local imaging with practical recovery depth: full, incremental, and differential schemes; scheduled and event-triggered backups; file synchronization; encrypted backup images; bootable WinPE rescue media; and restoration to dissimilar hardware. Remote backup supports computers on the same LAN, and server support is available in business editions. The trade-off is a Windows-only scope with no mobile backup, so organizations needing wider platform coverage should look elsewhere. Choose ShadowMaker for affordable Windows imaging and cloning; avoid it when mobile protection or a broader ecosystem is central.
